I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
